Traffic Safety Spotlight: Ali Edelstein
Observing a lack of safe ride options, Ali used the presence of Kentucky Bourbon Trail distilleries in Bardstown and Versailles to encourage Lyft to expand to those communities. Historically, rideshare companies have struggled in rural areas due to limited drivers and riders. To overcome these obstacles, Ali hosted community breakfasts at Heaven Hill and Woodford Reserve distilleries to recruit local drivers and created a public service announcement with master distillers to promote the new service amongst guests. Now, people in any Kentucky Bourbon Trail® community may schedule Lyft rides home or call a safe ride on the spot. Thank you for joining us as we celebrated Ali Edelstein and the other 2017 Quinlan Award winners at our annual Holiday Hill Event!
Each year Responsibilty.org highlights leaders who have distinguished themselves in the fight against impaired driving with the Kevin E. Quinlan Award for Excellence in Traffic Safety. Winners range from Members of Congress to local leaders in our communities and each have gone above and beyond their station to make our roads safer.
